On April 24th, 2018, the ceremony of EPC Contract Signing for 2×800MW Godda Ultra Supercritical Thermal Power Project was held in Beijing successfully. CCCME (China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Machinery and Electronic Products) President Mr. Zhang Yujing, Bangladesh Economic Counsellor to China Mr. Jahangir, Bangladesh Power Development Board IPP Project Director Mr. MD.Fazlul Hoque, Bangladesh State grid corporation Planning and Development Department chief engineer Mr. Pranab Kumar Roy, Adani Chairman Mr. Gautam Adani and his wife Mrs. Priti Adani, Adani CEO Mr. Vneet Jaain, PowerChina leaders Mr. Yan Zhiyong and Mr. Ding Chengguo, SEPCOIII leaders Mr. Wang Lujun, Wang Li and Li Jie, and financial institutions and cooperative institutions leaders attended the ceremony.

In the beginning of the ceremony, Mr. Wang Lujun, Chairman of SEPCOIII made the Welcome Speech, expressed sincere thanks and welcome to all leaders, guests and friends made brief introduction about “The Belt and Road” achievements and 2017 marketing development, and reviewed the cooperation with Adani. Mr. Wang pointed out that, the successful implementation of Mundra project has been highly recognized by the India government and all walks of life, and has won a series of honors such as Energy Conversation Award from India government, Early Completion Award by the Ministry of Power, Gold Shield Award, the Best Thermal Power Project and so on. SEPCOIII, as Godda project small scale investor and EPC general contractor, will carry forward fine work style of “initiative accountability persistence”, and will make every effort to ensue project carry out smoothly and realize target on time, to make new and greater contributions to the development of electricity, energy and social economy in India and Bangladesh, and to the sustainable development of Adani power and energy business.

Mr. Yan Zhiyong, the Party Secretary of Power Construction Corporation of China and Chairman made the speech, about the achievements in India and Bangladesh made the introduction. He emphasized that PowerChina will carry forward the ability and advantage, contribute more for the social development and people’s livelihood improvement.

Mr. Gautam Adani, Chairman of Adani, introduced the base information about Adani and PowerChina. Then, Mr. Zhang and other leaders made the speech respectively.

At 11:30, the ceremony was start officially. Adani CEO Mr. Vneet Jaain with Mr. Ding Chengguo, Signed MOU for Strategic Cooperation between Adani and PowerChina. Then Mr. Wang Li and Mr. Vneet Jaain signed EPC Contract for 2×800MW Godda Ultra Supercritical Thermal Power Project.

Godda project is located in Jharkhand. Electricity will be supplied to Bangladesh through dedicated transmission lines. It is one of the major projects in energy cooperation between India and Bangladesh, undertake the mission that push Bangladesh-China-India-Myanmar Economic Corridor construction and strengthen regional capacity connectivity. The project is jointly invested by Adani and Chinese enterprises, and SEPCOIII is the EPC general contractor. Godda project is the second cooperation between Adani and SEPCOIII, and also the seventh EPC project in India. So far, SEPCOIII has accumulated more than $7 billion in cumulative contracts and is the largest Chinese contractor in India.
