On October 16, the 2021 Global DigitalEnergy Summit was held in Dubai. At the meeting, SEPCOIII and Huawei DigitalEnergy Technology Co., Ltd. successfully signed the Saudi Red Sea New City Energy Storage Project. As the EPC general contractor of the Red Sea New City Project in Saudi Arabia, SEPCOIII will work with Huawei to provide a smart energy storage system for the Red Sea New City.  The two parties will jointly use "Chinese wisdom" to help Saudi Arabia build a global clean energy and green economy center.

On February 7, 2021, SEPCOIII and ACWA POWER signed the EPC contract for the Saudi Red Sea Public Utilities Infrastructure Project. This project is a key project of Saudi Arabia’s "Vision 2030" plan. The first large-scale infrastructure complex project undertaken by Saudi Arabia has attracted great attention from the Saudi government and all sectors of society. The project focuses on clean energy and environmental protection, and is committed to green and pollution-free energysupply, including photovoltaic, energy storage, power grid, seawater desalination, water supply pipe network, wastewater treatment, wastewater pipenetwork, solid waste treatment, communication and district cooling, etc., which includes the Red Sea New City Energy Storage Project.

The Red Sea New City Energy Storage Project is located on the coast of the Red Sea in Saudi Arabia. It is the world's largest battery storage facility with a power storage of up to 1,300MWh. The project can provide the Red Sea tourist area for power supply from renewable energy sources and achieve a completely clean energy off-grid power supply. The Red Sea New City, where the project is located, covers an area of 28,000 square kilometers. It is also known as the "New Generation City". It is the world's first large-scale commercial utility project integrating multiple energy complementary systems. In the future, the entire city's electricity will come entirely from new energy sources. Red Sea New City will lead a brand-new way of life, and at the same time seek to achieve new economic growth points under the situation of increasingly depleted oil and other resources.
