On October 20, South African President Cyril Ramaphosa and his entourage visited the Redstone 100MW Tower CSP project in South Africa to inspect the site and guide the work. ACWA POWER Chairman Mr. Mohammad Abdullah, Deputy General Manager Chen Yunpeng, Project Manager Li Quanxiang and others attended the event.

Accompanied by personnel from all parties, Mr. President inspected the construction site comprehensively, expressed satisfaction with the quality of the craftsmanship of the South African Redstone Project Department, and placed high expectations on the smooth realization of power generation of the project. During the visit, Mr. President gathered together with representatives of all parties involved in the project to extend cordial condolences to the Chinese personnel, and said that the Redstone Project is the largest renewable energy investment project in South Africa so far, and has overcome various disadvantages caused by the epidemic since the start of construction.  Influence, insist on hard work, not only made a huge contribution to the government, but also provided thousands of local jobs, I hope your company will make persistent efforts to complete the next power station construction.

edstone 100MW Tower CSP project in South Africa is located in North Cape Town Province, which has abundant light resources. The project adopts tower photothermal technology, and its heliostatic mirror adopts small mirror structure, with a total surface area of more than one million square meters.

The project is expected to deliver 480GWh of electricity to the grid every year, providing stable power supply to more than 200,000 households in South Africa. The project reached a milestone on the afternoon of October 10, when the minaret reached a height of 211.6 meters.
